[rescue] USB to serial bridge

Hi Lads

I need to get a good quality USB to serial bridge so that I can test
possible rescue systems in the field using my serial-port-less notebook.

I've heard anecdotal stories that certain adaptors are pretty flakey and
can have problems with handshaking etc. 

If you are using a good bridge and feel confident recommending it, please
let me know what the brand and model are.
