Maybe Intel subsidised the x86 assembly lab?
Maybe the teacher wrote a book on the topic,a nd enjoys the slow but
steady stream of $$$
Maybe the lack of a good textbook for another platform?
Maybe the teacher is tired of learning new things?
I learned 68000 assembler from a horrible book (essentially it was the
CPU reference manual from motorola). I would have like to studied
PDP-11 assembler at the time, but the school only had a 680x0-based
unix box for CS students. Well, that and a PRIME mainframe.
