Is 2.5.1 a requirement, or will 2.8/2.9 do?

Licensing issues aside, Images for 2.8/2.9 should be download-able for
cheap/free from www.sun.com.  However that being said, I suspect you
will not be able to use the downloaded images for the purposes you need
to due to license restrictions. (IANAL however) 

I'm not certain where you could get 2.5.1 from legally.  I think Sun
has stopped selling it.
