[rescue] Multia Question

I'm thinking of replacing the 4CFM fan in my Multia with a 50CFM fan.  If
I cut the fan leads from the power supply and power the fan from the drive
power connector on the PCI/SCSI riser.  My question is:  will the power
supply deactivate if it thinks there isn't a fan attached to the fan
connector in the power supply?  The reason I don't just hook the new fan
to the power supply breadboard is that the new fan uses 9W!
