As a zealot that muzt run linux on everything I have to react :)
You base your judgement about LINUX on experiences with a LINUX distro. 
Allways keep that in mind: linux isn't like other OSses in that respect. 
Linux is a kernel. Nothing more. 
I run debian on nearly everything just because I find it the best there is :-)
Except for my ss2 which ran openbsd till the nvram died. Linux runs like shit 
on it because it doesn't support sun4c cpu's well. Fair enough no? :-)
