   Sigh indeed.  I must admit to not having read this thread fully, 
but...

   If you've already decided that UNIX implementations (or their 
applications) are automatically (or even predominantly) text-based...

   If you've already decided that applying a GUI to a piece of software 
or functionality automatically makes it easier to use...

   If you've already decided that a server needs a graphical console...

   ...then give your Suns away.  They'll do nothing but frustrate you.
