I've missed any possible answers to this, so forgive me if I'm repeating
what others have said ...
60Hz is certainly good enough if you're using an LCD (and yes my eyes do
hate 60Hz on a CRT). In fact judging by my setup here, you might get a
better display by lowering from 76Hz to 60Hz (I'm using a Sony 18" on an
SGI SE).
