[rescue] E450 SCSI Backplane question - I2C cable????

Hello all,

I bought 2 8 slot SCSI backplanes on Ebay for my E450, but htye arrived
without the I2C cables - anyone know if they are needed for poeration, or are
they optional?

If optional, what do I gain (or lose) by not having them installed?

And finally, anyone have an affordable source for these cables (assuming this
is a standard connector, it may not be)?
