   That's really the same thing as using a plain old AM radio as a
troubleshooting aid with certain types of (really) old iron.  You'd
be amazed how much the resulting audio can tell you (machine in tight
loop, performing heavy calculation, even where in memory a program
might be hitting (if you can get the antenna close enough)).  Certain
diagnostics sound distinctive enough that one can identify what's
being tested at any given instant just by listening.
