Apart from the compiler and library issues, be aware that a Solaris 8 
patch added /dev/random and /dev/urandom devices as a userland-visible 
source of randomness. If your Solaris 8 box has these, you'll need to 
tell configure not to use them, because they sure won't be there on 
2.6.
