IBM shipped at least a few PPC "Thinkpad Power" notebooks that ran NT or
AIX out of the box. I've personally used a Thinkpad 860 (166 MHz 603e
IIRC) running NT4 on a few occasions, though that was nearly 8 years
ago. It was being marketed by their RS/6000 division at the time.

One major issue with NT4/PPC was the lack of x86 binary compatibility. I
was using NT4/Alpha extensively at a major VFX studio as late as 1999
which was relatively easy to deal with thanks to DEC's FX!32
emulation/binary translation software - the 533 MHz 21164PC was about as
fast as a 200 MHz PPro when running x86 code and much faster running
native code (e.g. Lightwave). Reasonable at the time they were
purchased, anyhow. AFAIK, there was no analogous capability on NT4/PPC -
it was native code or interpreted Win16 code only.
