"I have a PowerBook G4 17" 1.33GHz, and am having a rather strange
problem. Whenever my Mac wakes from sleep, all network connections
are
dead, and can only be resuscitated by rebooting the machine. I have
tried the usual remedies of switching locales, downing and upping an
interface, and switching from DHCP to static IP, or vice-versa."
What is the system connected to? Could the problem be with the other
end of the ethernet segment?
I once had a similar problem with the ethernet interface on a Powermac
G4. I traced it to a faulty implementation of spanning-tree protocol on a
3Com switch (when the system woke from sleep, the switch thought it
was detecting a a loop in the switch fabric).
