Sorry I wasn't more specific in my initial posting.

I was unsuccessful at getting banks of four 128MB Sun SIMMS working in 
either my U80 or my 420R.

I was successful with banks of four 64MB and banks of four 256MB simms in 
both the U80 and 420R.

After an hour or two of shuffling simms around, I checked SunSolve and saw
that my experience agreed with TFM....
