[rescue] SGI visual workstation question

Hi Lads

I'm thinking about buying a fairly well configured SGI 540 and 1600SW panel 
for one of my staff members. Is the Cobalt graphics subsystem still quite 
badly supported by any operating system except NT 4.0?

FWIW I do know that this is basically a glorified PC at heart, but I like to think 
that it is one of the more interesting/useful ones.
