Someone correct me please if I'm wrong, but didn't the MC68000 have flat
address space before the i80386 did?  And the 68k's address space was
flat by *default*, you didn't have to switch it into protected mode.

(However, I don't personally know whether the 68000 supported virtual
memory.)
