[rescue] disk board in e4k

I am trying to bring up this e4k.

I have a disk board with 2 SCA drives in it.

probe-scsi and probe-scsi-all do not see the drives, but they do see
the CDROM in the front of the machine.

what should I check?  Is there a jumper missing?  does a terminator
need to go on one of the in or out SCSI ports on the back of the disk
board?  or are the internal drives just dead?
