called Xi-Text to create and manage the queues for me, and I love it.
(Some day, I'll even use some of its ability to have multiple
configurations per printer based on the print queue called. Some day...)

   Corresponding with the Xi-Text programmer, I have heard terrible,
personal slurs against JetDirect printing. :7) However, it's still
better than another Oracle setup I have which just punts its jobs into
the local Windows print servers. Sometime the servers die, or the lpr
service silently fails. Even better, Windows 2003 Server has introduced
a bug into their LPD code.
   Did you get that? They introduced a bug into what should be stable
code written against a standard older then me. Stupid Windows...
