I thought about asking the cat to do it, since she likes to get tangled up
in the wires back there.

In any case, however, swapping hubs didn't change things.  I'm going to try
the other port on the vfe board.  This is not my idea of a high percentage
play, but the idea-meter is approaching the "E" mark.
