I've bought stuff from Corpsys before, what a friendly and
helpful bunch! A real pleasure to deal with.
Those Eurologic enclosures are very, very, very loud. Think
twin-overhead vacuum cleaners. I have tried to quiet them
down but the 10k rpm seagates (often with NetApp firmware)
then get too hot.
If you do find a way to get big, cheap FCAL discs, you
should probably patent it :-) No, no, only joking.
My best price solution was to arrange a bulk order of 40
discs (4 x 10 36GB) for a group of us here in Australia
from corpsys, split half amongst the group and slowly sell
the other half on ebay.com.au where we'd be able to get a
reasonable price as we're not having to ship from the
'States.
Even so, the best price would probably horrify you as thats
what it did to me. Needless to say, we didn't go ahead.
Best of luck, keep us informed! :-)
Sean
