Almost 15 years ago I wrote almost 100,000 lines of C code on a 6 mHz 286
running Coherent. My fast machine was a 16 mHz 386SX running UNIX.
A few years later I upgraded to a 386DX-33 which I used until I moved
here in 1996. (I still have the motherboard here somewhere).

I had one client in 1995 that had a monster NCR machine, 16 Pentium 90's
complete with the floating point bugw and  microchannels. This was fast. :-)

They were not happy when they found out I had a machine at home that was
binary compatible with it.

I suggested that they make /usr/local/bin NOT  world writeable before they 
worried about me, This really pissed them off.

Along the way I aquired an AT&T 3B2/310 which although it was a 
"native UNIX" machine was left in dust by the 386DX. Surprising as the
original owner had between 10 and 20 users on it at a time.
