Interesting, given that the standalone E4K is rated at 4680BTU vs.
the standalone E3K's 2600BTU. Maybe it's an issue of the
load placed on the PSU's (i.e. E3K's running close to max, E4K's
psu's yawning)?
I did some research for our power guys last week wrt max watts
on Sun servers, and the differences between some of the models
is pretty amazing. E250 vs. E450 for example:
E250: 2.8 A / 343 W / 1170 BTU/hr
E450: 13.8A / 1664 W / 5680 BTU/hr
The E250 is just slightly less than the Ultra 2 in wattage (.4 KVA,
which I assume would be 4 A & 350 W), but the 250 is almost
double the BTU/hr vs. the U2 (683 BTU/hr). The Ultra [10/30/60/80]
line also pumps out ~1K BTU/hr.
The little pizza boxes are a lot more thrifty in those areas.
