It's not just SUN drives. A good rule of thumb is to never burn a CD
faster than it will be read. I've had better luck reading CDs burnt
in a combination DVD/CD burner than in a CD-ROM only drive.
Due to the way that at least one of the anti buffer underun protocols works,
turning it off will result in a more readable CD. You will have to burn
your CDs at a low speed to avoid underuns.
I have been getting TEAC media marked 12x-52x, but they burn just fine
at 8x.
