[rescue] hitachi GD-7000 boots in blade 100

the advice to try it was sound. i just finished pulling the liteon and
installing the hitachi. when i powered on and tried boot cdrom, it
started down that path.

i found the physical task difficult (i am 82 and the fingers and eyes
don't work as well as you youngster's such do, and my tools are mostly of
the era of the '50s, when i started working on electronics -
fortunately office max had had a special, some time back, of a pc
toolkit for $1, which i could not resist.)

before i start on a scsi drive for this machine,  i would like  to know
if i have to remove the dvd-rom in order to  work in the second drive slot?
