   Once I get into "troubleshooting mode", I go in wholeheartedly;
this means using just about *every* sense (save taste) in the
process.  One learns, quite literally sometimes, how to "smell
trouble" (as in "something's *just about* to leak magic smoke)
and "hear something coming" (as in the time I heard a faint arcing
sound coming from the battery rack on the 225kVA UPS at $PPOE that
was about to catch fire before the breaker on the box got opened).
