NetBSD/sparc64 isn't quite up to the task just yet. There are still a
few bugs in the threading that cause stuff to dump core. Multiple CPUs
are not supported just yet either.
People have reported that it can be more stable if you run the
NetBSD/sparc (32bit) userland with an appropriate kernel, YMMV, I've not
given this a try just yet, my Blade 100 is powered off for now.
FreeBSD also has a sparc64 port, if you want to give that a shot, but
I've not been following their progress any.
