   We use a Verity Systems Digi Tapemaster V92:

   The guy whose job it is to zap old media with it told me, "I can do
dlt tapes -- it's just a small one but it works."

   But I think it cost over a grand, so maybe you'll want to jury rig
hard drive magnets onto old stepper motors or something. :7)
