What about Solaris 2.1 or the like?

I can also recommend to give 4.3BSD-Tahoe a run on an old (or emulated)
MicroVAX II. Place the two side by side and feel the difference.
(4.3BSD-Tahoe because it was the last "real", "pure" BSD without SysV
additions. The later 4.3BSD-Reno already had some SysV extensions
added.)

Once upon a time I run 4.3BSD-Tahoe and 4.3BSD-Reno on MicroVAXen and
4.4BSD-Lite on a HP9000-433t. It was really interrestung und educating.
