Sorry, no.

256 meg DIMMs were pretty rare, especialy in PC100. PC133 was easier to
find, but I understand that some computers that take PC100 can use it and 
some can not. There is also the problem that many motherboards 
can only address 128m per chip, so you need special 2x128m DIMMs.

The last time I bought it, it was half again more than DDR RAM for
the single chip version and almost twice for the double.

I expect that it will become like RDRAM. You can buy used RDRAM for little
money if you want it with low speed, small sizes, and a good likelyhood
of bad bits.

512m of 800mHz RDRAM here is more expensive than a 3.2gHz PIV system, complete
with 80gig SATA drive, DVD-ROM, and 512m of DDR RAM.
