By gender bender, you mean the converter has a female
68pin, and so does your converter board? In that case,
make up a short ribbon cable. Two ways to do this -
the easy way, if you have a 68 pin internal ribbon
cable with a couple connectors that are pretty close
to one another, is to simply cut it (cleanly, with a
sharp razor blade) to make a short, two connector
cable. The hard way, if you want something even
shorter, is to carefully pry off a connector, and
re-crimp it closer to another connector, once again
cutting the excess cable off.
