I had trouble with VIA USB devices even on non-Solaris.
This card works well on NetBSD:
ohci0 at pci0 dev 16 function 0: NEC USB Host Controller (rev. 0x43)
ohci1 at pci0 dev 16 function 1: NEC USB Host Controller (rev. 0x43)
ehci0 at pci0 dev 16 function 2: NEC USB Host Controller (rev. 0x04)
Fuction 0 and 1:
Vendor Name: NEC (0x1033)
Device Name: USB Host Controller (0x0035)
Class Name: serial bus (0x0c)
Subclass Name: USB (0x03)
Interface: 0x10
Revision ID: 0x43
Fuction 2:
Vendor Name: NEC (0x1033)
Device Name: USB Host Controller (0x00e0)
Class Name: serial bus (0x0c)
Subclass Name: USB (0x03)
Interface: 0x20
Revision ID: 0x04
According to a friend with extensive Solaris experience: This card is
supported by Solaris as it features the same ohci / ehci structure as
the USB adapters used by Sun.
