[rescue] non-Intel laptop for general use?

My "good" laptop is an IBM WorkPad z50.  MIPS CPU, about two hours of
battery life (which isn't up to a good new laptop, but pretty good for
something its age), and lighter than any other portable I've ever
handled.  (It *is* comparatively slow.)
