That depends on how you test performance.  Sequential disk reads?  
Seeks?  Random Reads?  According to storagereview.com, the fastest 
"single user" drive is the WD Raptor SATA, but the fastest "server" 
drive is the Seagate Cheetah 15k.5 SAS.
