I believe that Brian Hechinger did that to his Ultra 80.  I don't recall
which LSI card he used.

However, I see that LSI 3800X cards are currently $100 on ebay, which is
definately Solaris compatible.  That card will require those 4x
Inifiniband break out cables, which aren't all that hard to find.
