The IN and OUT connectors on a 711 are connected together
(though with 2 ft of foil between them to ensure the drives
don't see long stubs).

If the 611's are wired accordingly, IN and OUT are
interchangeable EXCEPT for the last enclosure on the
bus which must have the OUT connector unused (because
the termination is physically located adjacent to
that connector; leaving the IN connector unconnected
instead results in a stub extending beyond the termination)
