I believe it used 'standard' parallel... i.e. like a PC... but
I'm getting a bit foggy on it.

The NEWSprinter20 used a special SBUS card... and as
it was explained to me it was a specific high speed parallel
port... might have even been 16 bits wide... don't know
specifics.
