This is of course a ROM-code issue, not an OS issue.  But yes, I can
personally confirm that netbooting has worked, fairly well, since the
days of VME-chassis Sun-3s.  Maybe even Sun-2s, though I can't recall
clearly enough to be sure - our Sun-2s didn't last long before they got
CPU board transplants to turn them into Sun-3s, and it _was_ long ago.
