I bought a Sun Ray 1g a few years ago to drive a 1920x1200 panel in my
home office. I really loved the experience, it was by far the best
remote desktop I've ever had. The Sun Ray 1g was actually faster and
more responsive than the local console on my Ultra 2.
Sun Ray Server Software 3.x (SRSS) on Solaris was trivial. I ran the
installer, and everything worked out of the box. No muss, no fuss.
SRSS on Linux varies. I imagine everything works great if you're on just
the right version of the right distribution, but I wasn't. On Debian,
my experience was a big bag of hurt.
