Sounds like a bad optical drive... The tray issues alone would earn that
device a spot in my recycle bin.

Replacement parts shouldn't be too hard to locate, if you are stuck for
another drive I can send you a pull from another sun machine i have for actual
S/H (under $10 USPS Priority Mail).
