[rescue] Smaller patch panels? (home wiring)

I'm finally semi-properly rewiring my house.

One thing I need is a 24 or 48-port RJ45 (Cat5/e) patch panel to
terminate some runs into.  Anybody have one sitting in a junk parts
box somewhere that will let it go cheap?  I've got cable, I've got 
a punchdown tool, etc, and I can buy a wall-mount bracket if needed.

Suggestions on my wiring scheme welcome too :)
