Yeah, the DL320G2 I'm in the process of building into a short-term
replacement for my dead firewall/router bastion host is a single P4.
Bang for the power buck is definitely one of my concerns here.  Its
predecessor was a 1U single-P3 box.

I've been really thinking about whether I should develop a long-term
plan around using some newer low-power device, a mini-ITX platform or
something of the kind, but I don't really know enough about hardware in
that class to know what would be the best approach.  And it has to be
something I can run OpenBSD on.  I'm assuming I ought to be able to find
something that'll fit into the 1U case from the previous
firewall/router, which is actually a pretty decent chassis, but I'd be
OK with a compact chassis more typical of that class of hardware as long
as I can fit the requisite number of Ethernet ports into it.
