It's an Intel - Core 2 Duo 2.16 Ghz
If it were a G5 iMac, I wouldn't even bother. I've spent enough hours of
my life on those things.

G5 or Intel?
The G5s have a known problem with the capacitors on the logic board.
I
have one that died from this, after 2 claimed "repairs" by
Apple-authorised service centres.
The symptoms are random power-downs, which grow more frequent until
it
won't turn on.
I have a pack of replacement caps (about #12 on eBay) but I
personally
lack the skills and another listmember who tried to do it for me
found
his soldering iron couldn't shift them.
