It's worth noting the Rackable deal was executed after SGI's *second* 
bankruptcy.  They entered chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2006 and then did it 
again in 2009.

6.5.30 came out the same year as the very final hardware sales for IRIX. 
  It's hardly surprising that they stopped updating the install media 
after they stopped selling hardware.
I know they were still issuing patches as late as 2012, and there were 
support contracts that ran through 12/31/2013.
