  Yes, slot ordering in the x70 chassis is important.  If memory serves
the CPU goes in a middle-ish slot (5?), memory boards on one side and
everything else on the other.  This may have been specific to SPARC
processor boards like the 4/400.  Those brain cells are fading fast.

  The Sun Field Service guides should be helpful here; all that info is
in there.
