Well, installing IRIX (I think I had 6.2 CD-s with the machine) on my 
Indigo2 was quite troublesome - GUI crashed as soon as it came up so 
serial console was the only option. I had seen it done once so I knew 
what to expect, but the sash/fx/... manual install was quite exactly 
like my first Slackware install in 1995.
