Even if you have to start out with 03/05 GA media, Its pretty easy to LU (live 
upgrade) + convert over to ZFS.

Also, if your SS 5 the OP mentioned earlier is available, it can easily be set 
up as a jumpstart server, even if it is just basic enough to get an OS installed.
