It gets *really* annoying on sun4u models with OBP 4.x - they removed the
mkp/mkpl commands from the firmware so itbs not straightforward to program.
You can usually find the address by browsing the beepromb node in the
device tree, getting the physical address, then knowing the offset of the
ethernet/hostid parts (0x1FD8 bytes into the EEPROM on my Sun Blade 100). If
you can manage to get into Solaris, prtconf -vp will show the physical address
of the EEPROM too.

Then you can program with the c! command from Forth.

Not sure if that applies to E450 and its ilk.
