There are a couple of diehards in the 68k community doing good NetBSD
work, which I like. A few of the kernel issues I ran into a few years
ago got picked up by them and fixed, and it looks like those folks are
still active.  That's pretty exciting.

That's exactly where I'm at. I like running the older/original OSes on
things, but it's really fun for me to run a modern OS on a ~30 year old
machine. Granted, I also like doing particularly dumb things with it,
like testing out the kernel RAID driver, getting a full GNOME desktop
compiled and running, or attempting to boot something with qemu-x86_64.
