The only ways I can think of that that would be a problem are (1)
physical space and (2) if one of them (host or drive) is LVD and the
other isn't.  Based on your descriptions, I doubt either the host or
the drive is LVD, so you should be good.

You might need to think about termination; some wide<->narrow adapters
auto-terminate the high half, but some don't.
