[rescue] A SBus card for SPARCstation designed in 2020...

Your issue of the card only working with a warm boot is why I was thinking
using a 5V tolerant CPLD from Atmel for the level conversion.
You would put all the bus interfacing and rom in the CPLD... meaning basically
instant startup, and the big FPGA could take its sweet time.
congrats on getting it working!,Chase Rayfield

Following up on my own idea, this might interest some people on these lists:

The answer is not as much as I expected. I've posted my current status
on an electronic engineering forum where I had found some help:
-designed-in-2020/>
Short version: I now need to figure out how to write a driver in NetBSD :-)

Yes, once I'm somewhat convinced it won't hurt the host Sun...
wouldn't want to damage one of the not-so-many that are still being
run :-) So far I've seen no indication, but then I'm not a HW guy so
it's hard to figure out...
Also I want to share as if I can get someone else interested, I could
use some help with the FPGA gateware - I got the basics covered but
doing something useful might require more skills than I have.

New answer:
<https://github.com/rdolbeau/SBusFPGA>
There's a very basic NetBSD driver as well, to access the registers
(LED, GHASH) from userland using ioctls.
