Hrm. So I downloaded the 8.1 ISO and installed it. Installer ran fine,
much more pleasant than the last time I did NetBSD on an old SE/30.
Configured it and rebooted. Starts up, shifts to the wscons (if I am
reading it correctly) and then a few moments later the screen goes
bonkers. This appears to be something interacting with my video card
as it is with or without XDM and I don't see any other virtual
consoles (ctrl/alt/F# ?).

I have a ELSA,Gloria Synergy (8MB) video card installed that works
beautifully with Tru64 (2048x1024x24bit). If that is the problem, I do
have a number 9 card that can do 1024x768x8bit.

Thoughts?
